The snow has almost melted and spring is right around the corner, a time when many will roll out their two-wheeled "Deployment Specials" and look for a sunny day to check out the top end of their freedom machines.

Those first few rides of the year are when too many of our Wingmen crash and burn by either being hit by an automobile, or pushing the top speed and riding faster than they are capable of handling.

From the time he was a child 2nd Lt. Chad Hall, 421st Aircraft Maintenance Unit assistant officer in charge, has had a dream to become a professional athlete.

That dream was achieved March 11 when he was selected and signed to play professional football as a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles.

"Well it happened really quick to tell you the truth," Hall said. "This has been a very stressful week for me.

"When you come through the gate in the morning are you coming to advance your career or is it just your job?" asked Essye Miller, director of Hill Air Force Base Communications Directorate, as she spoke March 11 to a gathering.

Miller led this year's career broadening seminar as part of the Federal Women's Program's series of events held in honor of Federal Women's History Month.

Maj. Gen. Jeffrey Dorko, Deputy Commanding General for military and international operations at the headquarters of U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, visited Team Hill on March 2.

The purpose of his visit was to meet with Team Hill project leaders and workers and to see the constructions sites that are being worked on and developed.

"Our relationship with Hill Air Force Base is really good, and this is a great opportunity for me to come out here and meet with our partners and customers," Dorko said.
