Riverdale Road construction update

Due to recent weather conditions and predicted storminess this weekend, the Utah Department of Transportation has authorized a special lane closure today, Nov. 19. This closure will ensure that work will be completed so seven lanes of traffic are open by Thanksgiving.

Northbound Riverdale Road will be restricted to one lane today from the Weber River Viaduct to Lincoln Avenue so crews can prepare the critical transition between the new concrete pavement and the existing roadway. The lane closure is expected to be in effect from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Early next week northbound traffic will be switched onto the new pavement and southbound traffic will travel on the existing asphalt. With the new lanes added, that means seven lanes of traffic will be ready for use during the holiday season. Work on the project will be suspended until after the holiday season.
