Hill Air Force Base is holding a Wingman Stand Down Safety Day on May 24 under the direction of Air Force leadership in a memorandum recently issued to all Air Force major commands by Gen. Norton Schwartz, Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
With the 101 Critical Days of Summer nearing and the increased effort to promote the Wingman Concept, the safety day will include three areas of review: the Team Hill You Matter program from the Wingman Advocates, motor vehicle safety and a general safety review. All military units on base will take a half day to review the material and at 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. everyone is invited to a picnic lunch at Centennial Park. Those units whose leadership have called a full day will be welcome to attend a safety fair at the park thereafter full of displays and demonstrations including an airbag demonstration by Autoliv, kayaking and rafting safety classes, OSHA Voluntary Protection Program giveaways, hunter safety and a search and rescue demonstration.
