The 649th Munitions Squadron held their first squadron physical training session at the Ogden River on May 26.
The last Thursday of every month is a free PT day for the squadron and the 649th MUNS plans on inviting other units to join them at different venues and the Ogden River within the local community for their 5K runs. Plans are under way to conduct weekly events after the run proved to be so scenic. Chief Master Sgt. Antonio Johnson, Maintenance Superintendent, 649th MUNS, said that a few Airmen initiated the idea of conducting the Wingman Runs in the local community.
"Our intentions are to do something different to break the monotony of our PT sessions and to make a positive visual presence in the community," said Johnson.
Senior Airman Joshua Jerger, 649th MUNS, said that these runs are a great way to exercise Wingman skills, promote higher levels of fitness for long distance running and to show people in the community how dedicated the Air Force is to physical fitness and how Airmen work as a team.
"The Ogden River was a beautiful and scenic place to run and running as a group definitely brings us together as a squadron," said Senior Airman Jerger. "The next one should be just as successful."
