Clearfield holiday decorating contest announced

CLEARFIELD — Holiday decorating could mean cash prizes for some residents here.

From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Dec. 2, Clearfield Community Services will take nominations for the yard with the best decorations.

RIVERDALE -- You may know a lot of Christmas fans who can't stop themselves from listening to Christmas music at Halloween, but have you ever met a Halloween nut who can't help but decorate the Christmas tree with the angel of death?

Meet Judy Morgan. Jack the Pumpkin King's Christmas didn't work out only because there aren't more Judy Morgans in the world.

Morgan begins decorating for Halloween in August. It takes 10 days just to cover the walls of her home at 1236 W. 4500 South in plastic that looks like black, Gothic bricks. By the time she's done, every square foot of her house is occupied by a Frankenstein, vampire, witch, ghost or other monster. That includes the bedrooms and bathrooms.
