WEST POINT — Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings says he isn’t prepared to file charges against a 15-year-old boy suspected of fatally stabbing his two younger brothers Wednesday.

Rawlings said he is trying to find out more about the boy and killings that stunned the community.

Aza Vidinhar is in custody after authorities investigating the stabbing deaths of his younger adopted brothers found him miles away with traces of blood on him, officials say.

Study: Gun ownership, conservatism contribute to Utah’s high suicide rate

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah’s dubious distinction as one of the leading states for suicide could be linked to its high rate of gun ownership and political conservatism, according to a newly released study.

The study was authored by Augustine J. Kposowa, a sociology professor at the University of California-Riverside.

Kposowa calculated for each state the overall suicide rate, percentage of households with firearms and percentage of votes cast for President George W. Bush in the 2000 election.
