Utah hospitals achieve good grades in ranking

Stewart expected to stay at hospital

OGDEN -- Matthew David Stewart, who was wounded in a Jan. 4 shootout that left Ogden Police Officer Jared Francom dead and five other officers injured, won't be booked into Weber County Jail for at least another week, Sheriff Terry Thompson said Thursday.

Therapy dogs lift patient morale at ORMC

OGDEN -- When Carolyn Becker heard there was a therapy dog at Ogden Regional Medical Center, she immediately said she would like to see him.

The golden retriever named Bert walked into her room, jumped on the bed, curled up and went to sleep while Becker rubbed his ears.

"(The other night) I was dreaming that my cats were in bed with me," Becker said, "so seeing Bert was really a pick-me-up. He's beautiful and has a delightfully smooth and touchable coat."

OGDEN -- Matthew David Stewart was reportedly wounded in the foot, stomach, arm and buttocks in the Jan. 4 shootout that killed Ogden Police Officer Jared Francom and injured five other officers, a source close to the investigation said Monday.

Ogden Regional trauma center has ‘no deficiencies’

OGDEN — Ogden Regional Medical Center passed verification for its trauma center with no deficiencies, which, according to a hospital news release, is a rare accomplishment.
