GALLERY: Hostess Twinkies have been part of our pop culture

In the 1984 film "Ghostbusters", Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) holds up a Twinkie and says, "Well, let's say this Twinkie represents the normal amount of psychokinetic energy in the New York area. Based on this morning's sample, it would be a Twinkie... thirty-five feet long, weighing approximately six hundred pounds."

Twinkies have been a part of our lives since they were invented in 1930 by James Alexander Dewar. Recent developments with Hostess cause us to look back on memorable moments in movies and television that showcase that "Golden Sponge Cake with Creamy Filling".
