MORGAN -- A Sunday morning crash involving two semi trucks blocked westbound traffic on Interstate 84 for 2 1/2 hours.
Police say just after 9 a.m. Sunday a flatbed semi out of Kentucky was traveling west on I-84 near Mile Marker 108 when the driver lost control on the snow-covered road. A news release from Utah Highway Patrol said the semi jackknifed, blocking all of I-84.
A second semi out of Minnesota, traveling behind the first semi, was unable to stop and crashed into the trailer of the jackknifed semi, the release states.
The impact caused the flatbed semi to lose part of its load of metal beams, scattering them across the westbound lanes.
The driver of the first semi was not injured. Police say the driver of the second semi had minor injuries and declined medical attention at the scene.
The driver of the first semi was cited for failing to operate within a single lane. The second semi truck driver was cited for following too close.
