Farmington project gets early OK from officials

FARMINGTON -- City officials have approved a schematic plan to develop seven lots at the southeast corner of Glover Lane and the Frontage Road.

In action taken recently, the council voted unanimously to approve the Eastwood Cove schematic being proposed by Ivory Homes on the city’s west side.

The subdivision would be a conservation subdivision, which means Ivory is either required to meet an open space requirement or petition a waiver to set aside .4 acres at the site for a conservation easement. Initial talks centered around a plan by the developer to upgrade a city trail in the region, in exchange for the waiver.

The two sides are meeting to find a middle ground.
