Ogden man arrested on suspicion of robbery

OGDEN -- A 19-year-old Ogden man was arrested Monday after police say he robbed a convenience store.

Christopher Jimenez was booked into Weber County Jail on suspicion of robbery.

Lt. Tony Fox said Jimenez and another man went to the Maverik at 1689 Washington Blvd. around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

The two ran out of the store with cases of beer, but Jimenez was intercepted.

"A customer grabbed Jimenez and took him to the ground as he tried to run," Fox said.

"When the customer wrestled with Jimenez, the second suspect punched the customer in the face a couple of times trying to get him to let go."

Jimenez was not able to break free before police arrived, but the second man fled and was not apprehended.

Jimenez was arrested but refused to talk with police about the second suspect. He is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds.

The suspect was wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants and a white-brimmed beanie cap during the robbery.
