OGDEN -- In his final address as mayor of Ogden, Matthew Godfrey stopped twice to collect himself. He spoke about how the pressures of public criticism had damaged the family name his father was proud of and how the death of his father four years ago affected him.

OGDEN -- A proposed $13 million Hilton Garden Inn Hotel project slated for The Junction development downtown may include up to four additional businesses, says the inn's owner.

RIVERDALE -- It may have been 10 degrees outside, but that didn't stop the heartiest of shoppers from ushering in Black Friday in the usual fashion -- waiting in line all night for big discounts.

OGDEN -- By a 6-1 vote Tuesday night, the Ogden City Council approved a development agreement with a Taylorsville company to construct a $13 million Hilton Garden Inn Hotel downtown.

OGDEN -- Individuals who paid thousands of dollars in deposits for condominiums in the unfinished Earnshaw Building won't get their money back from the bank that bought most of the structure last week at a trustee sale.

OGDEN -- A developer hoping to build an upscale hotel at The Junction says even with $12 million in tax-exempt bond pledges there's still considerable work ahead to make the project a reality.

OGDEN -- The developer of the unfinished Earnshaw Building has defaulted on a $6.2 million bank loan.

DE Ogden Development LLC has until Aug. 25 to correct the default for the six-story building at 339 E. 2250 South, Bob Parks, senior vice president for First Community Bank, based in Salt Lake City, said Wednesday.
