KAYSVILLE — The city council recently named 16-year-old Kate Simpson as the Kaysville Youth Citizen of the Year.

Simpson earned the award by dedicating many hours of service to the community over her three years on the city’s youth council.

KAYSVILLE — A 29-year-old man has been flown to Ogden Regional Hospital after a wall fell on top of him at a construction site Tuesday morning.

KAYSVILLE -- The city wants to be more transparent, so to accomplish that goal, City Recorder Linda Ross helped launch a "Government Transparency" tagline on the city's website Friday.

KAYSVILLE -- From the time the school bell rings until her 13-year-old son arrives home, Emily Smalley worries if he is going to get home safely.

"My kid comes home and I think, 'Oh good, he made it safe,'" Smalley said.

A few weeks ago, her son Andrew crashed his bike in the middle of the road on his way home from Centennial Junior High School. Andrew claimed that the sidewalk, where he had been told to ride, was too full of pedestrians to accommodate his bike.

KAYSVILLE -- Kaysville Citizens for Responsible Government will not have a seat on the city council.

After weeks of political tug of war between three incumbents and three challengers, all members of the citizen's group, Kaysville voters had their say during Tuesday's election. Based on the results, residents there appear to like the direction the city is heading.
