SYRACUSE -- New city councils became official Tuesday as the winners in November's elections took their oaths of office.
The Syracuse council welcomes back Douglas Peterson and new members Karianne Lisonbee and Craig A. Johnson. Mayor Jamie Nagle said she is looking forward to working with the new council, which she said is made up of people with diverse views. That situation, she said, could be beneficial for the city.
"I'm hoping that we can set the example of how Washington can run when you have those diverse views," Nagle said. "Hopefully, we can find the middle ground. That's what the citizens want and I look forward to that."
