Kaysville group appeals petition decision

KAYSVILLE -- Claiming a lack of due diligence by the Davis County Clerk/Auditor's Office, a Kaysville citizens group is appealing the disqualification of signatures on three proposed petitions.

(ERIN HOOLEY/Standard-Examiner) The Kaysville FIre Department celebrated the acquisition of a new fire truck in 1950. The department will celebrate 100 years of service with a dinner at the station Wednesday, and this truck will make an appearance.

KAYSVILLE -- With 100 candles on the cake, the Kaysville Fire Department will be on hand just in case it gets out of control.

KAYSVILLE -- Jim Rae wants respect and a date from Kaysville city, the motel owner or developer as to when he and his neighbors will be evicted from their homes in the Far West Motel.

Sons of Pioneers to cover William Kay

LAYTON — The first LDS bishop of Kays Ward, later Kaysville, will be the topic at the Sons of the Utah Pioneers meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis County Central Branch Library, 155 N. Wasatch Drive.

William Kay was a pioneer and the first Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints bishop for Kays Ward, said Stephen G. Handy, spokesman for the Sons of the Utah Pioneers Snow Horse Chapter.

Kaysville denies petitions again

KAYSVILLE -- The three initiative petitions resubmitted to Kaysville city on Monday by a citizens group wanting to change city government have not been accepted by the city for a second time based on the language of the petitions not complying with state law.
