BEDFORD, N.Y. -- The Kennedy family, so practiced at public mourning, is grieving again after the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy Jr. was found dead at her home in suburban New York.

Mary Richardson Kennedy, 52, an architect who struggled with drug and alcohol charges in recent years, hanged herself.

BEDFORD, N.Y. -- Mary Richardson Kennedy's life had both highlights and troubled moments, just like other members of the famous political family she married into in 1994.

She was an architect who struggled with drug and alcohol abuse, and was the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy Jr.
