Kaysville denies petitions again

KAYSVILLE -- The three initiative petitions resubmitted to Kaysville city on Monday by a citizens group wanting to change city government have not been accepted by the city for a second time based on the language of the petitions not complying with state law.

Congress takes up major change in patent law

WASHINGTON  — The patent system hasn't changed much since 1952 when Sony was coming out with its first pocket-size transistor radio, and bar codes and Mr. Potato Head were among the inventions patented. Now, after years of trying, Congress may be about to do something about that.

Police warn residents to obey public land laws

CENTERVILLE -- Following a fire that consumed a 2009 Jeep Wrangler last week, police are asking residents to be careful and to obey laws concerning the use of public lands on the East Bench of Centerville.
