RICHFIELD -- The Layton Christian Academy boys basketball team finished the season on a winning streak, claiming a hard-fought 64-58 victory over Bryce Valley on Saturday evening in the state 1-A title game at the Sevier Valley Center.
Bobby Porter's Eagles led the entire contest, and showed enough composure in the crucial moments of the championship battle to earn the title.
"It's a true blessing to first of all have good players, but then have players who are willing to sacrifice to be a team," Porter said after the game. "Their families have been great. The community has been wonderful. It felt great to represent the Northern Utah schools."
