Lego building club the place to be after school in Kaysville

KAYSVILLE -- School just can't end quickly enough on Wednesdays for 50 students at Endeavour Elementary School.

Model trains, Lego layout, tiny ride at fest mesmerizes kids

OGDEN — The eyes of adults and children followed the trains weaving their way through intricate model layouts of countryside, construction sites and metropolitan areas.

The 23rd annual Hostlers Model Railroad Festival was full steam ahead.

Legos aren't just a toy for students building robots

CLEARFIELD -- For eighth-grader Carson Crook, building Lego creations is a means to an end.

"I want to be an aeronautical or computer engineer," he said. "(The FIRST Lego League) is experience with computers and building stuff."

Crook, a member of the FIRST Lego League (FIRST: For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) at North Davis Junior High School, participated in a clash of robot skills against teams from Wasatch and Hill Field elementary schools.

Block by tiny block ... Nine-year-old creates his own Lego kingdom

The Child's own version of the Christmas village rests on the kitchen counter.

There's a fire station, grocery store, ballroom and the chef cooking the holiday feast. The holiday collection is made entirely of Lego sets that were built by Matthew Child, who has become a veteran builder at a young age.
