SALT LAKE CITY -- Salt Lake City police are investigating the death of a person at the Salt Lake City Main Library.

FARMINGTON — As library patrons increasingly use electronic media to access information, Davis County Library is working to meet their demands.

Libraries have historically been a major source of knowledge, traditionally in the form of paper books. However, with the increased use of technology, libraries are beginning to expand their resources.

Davis County Library is working to enhance its technology assets by purchasing more e-books, offering online learning games and tools for children and providing access to online car repair manuals, genealogy databases and foreign language courses.

OGDEN — The Weber County Main Library’s public computer lab is getting new computers.

The library’s Board of Trustees has designated its $40,059 Community Library Enhancement Fund Award to the computer upgrade.

OGDEN — The Weber County Library will throw an Oscar party Sunday afternoon to let residents get a taste of the festivities surrounding the annual movie awards.

The program will be at the Pleasant Valley Branch, 5568 Adams Ave., Ogden, beginning at 4 p.m. with a red carpet party before the 5 p.m. show on the library’s big movie screen.

The red carpet party will include door prizes and refreshments. A special award will be made for whomever successfully predicts which film wins “best picture.”

CLEARFIELD -- The city is offering up a haunting of its own through music.

The public is invited to a free community event, the Clearfield Community Band's fall concert, "Haunting Melodies and Things That Go Bump in the Night."

SALT LAKE CITY -- Target Corporation is unveiling $200,000 in improvements for a Salt Lake City elementary school library.
