Farmington council OKs beer license for Station Park eatery

FARMINGTON — City officials have approved the application for a class B beer license for a business that will be part of the city’s newest development.

The council unanimously voted Tuesday to approve a beer license application for Parkstone Wood Kitchen & Bar, which will allow the business to serve alcohol in its soon-to-be-opened restaurant in Station Park.

New Roy convenience store gets alcohol license

ROY — The city council has granted a new 7-Eleven an alcoholic beverage license.

The store at 5605 S. 3500 West was a different convenience store until recently. A new owner changed franchises and refurbished the location. The store will soon reopen for business.

Valentine: No harm in hotel cocktails

SALT LAKE CITY -- A Utah senator is proposing changes to the state's liquor laws so hotel guests can order single cocktails in their rooms.

Utah law only allows a hotel to deliver a bottle of liquor through room service, Sen. John Valentine, R-Orem, said. For example, if a person wants a martini, they have to order a bottle of gin and a bottle of vermouth.

But the state lawmaker said "consumption in a hotel room is not going to impact public safety very much."

Layton hotel gets banquet liquor license

LAYTON -- The Courtyard by Marriott can now serve alcohol at banquets.

The city council recently approved an on-premise banquet liquor license for Western States Lodging in regard to its Courtyard by Marriott hotel at 1803 Woodland Park Drive.

SALT LAKE CITY — A legislative audit released Thursday says state lawmakers should consider making more liquor licenses available to meet growing demand in a rapidly changing state where more people are drinking alcohol than ever before.
