Evening of jazz sounds to rock Ogden’s Union Station

Jazz is truly a homegrown American art form, born and bred from a mixture of styles and cultures that could only come together in the American melting pot. Jazz at the Station series is celebrating that fact with its free, family friendly April show that looks at the birth, youth and young adulthood of this red-white-and-blue music genre.

A new music festival made its debut in the sun-kissed glades of Ogden Valley on Friday, Aug. 23. The festival was courtesy of the nonprofit organization Ogden Friends of Acoustic Music, the Ogden Roots and Blues at Cutler Flats in North Fork Park. The three-day concert joined the Ogden Music Festival at Fort Buenaventura, which has been held since 2009.
