UofU business school raises $160,000 for Make-A-Wish

SALT LAKE CITY -- Executive MBA students from the David Eccles School of Business at The University of Utah raised $160,000 in cash and in-kind contributions to help the Utah chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Seattle’s superhero dies from rare cancer at age 14

SEATTLE — In real life, he was Erik Martin, a foster child with severe health problems and a rare form of cancer. But in his imagination he was Electron Boy, a superhero who saved Seattle from the forces of darkness and evil one spring day last year.

Erik died Friday at home. He was 14.

'Wish Kids' learn about life as Hill fighter pilot

HILL AIR FORCE BASE -- Luke Traughber found out firsthand Thursday what it's like to be an F-16 fighter pilot. But more important, he got a respite from a disease that has been his life for more than a year. The 11-year-old was one of nine Utah children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation who were treated to an interactive tour of the 388th Fighter Wing as part of Hill Air Force Base's "Pilot for a Day" program.

Eagle Scout project benefits Make-A-Wish Foundation

WEST POINT -- Plastic eggs in every color and size competed for space with large bags of Snickers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Skittles and Dubble Bubble on 8-foot-long tables inside a church house.

Make-A-Wish group to train volunteers

Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Utah is now accepting new volunteer applications for its new volunteer orientation and position training being held Saturday in Ogden.
