Meeting seeks input on Weber Coalition for a Healthy Community

OGDEN — The public is invited to attend a town hall meeting with the Weber Coalition for a Healthy Community.

The meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 5 at Weber Human Services, 237 26th St., in the third-floor auditorium. Attendees are encouraged to give input on the direction of the Weber Coalition. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Spanish interpreters will be available.

Fixing Ogden's aging water system a long, costly endeavor

OGDEN — The city administration has a proposal for a new water master plan that the city council is considering — and it isn’t cheap.

The recommended improvements total more than $170 million, to be spread out over 40 years.

Ogden district officials consider procedures in case of quake

OGDEN — Principals and specialists knew they had been called to an Ogden School District meeting Wednesday to talk about earthquake preparedness in schools.

What they didn’t know before the meeting started was that they would be given a catastrophic scenario and be asked to work through the first-responder steps to secure the safety of students.

Officials to consider BDO subdivision

OGDEN — The Ogden City Planning Commission on Wednesday will review an application for an 11-lot commercial subdivision for Business Depot Ogden.

A public meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Ogden Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Blvd.

City Planner Rick Grover said the move would basically establish property lines around buildings that already have tenants in the area near 600 W. 2nd St. in the BDO.

South Weber council to meet Tuesday about emergency preparedness

SOUTH WEBER — The South Weber Citizen Corps Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the fire station.

The purpose of the council meeting is to prepare for emergency situations that may arise in the city.

Council representatives include people from the community, including from Job Corps, the elementary school, the fire station, churches and the city council.

OGDEN — Ogden is developing a Recreation Master Plan and will look for public input at community meetings.

FARR WEST -- Rep. Lee Perry will meet with his constituents in the newly created Utah House of Representatives District 29 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Venture Academy Charter School, 1500 W. 400 North.

This legislative town hall meeting is for residents of eastern Brigham City, Perry, Willard, South Willard, Plain City, Farr West, Marriott-Slaterville, northwest Ogden, north West Haven and Taylor.

Boundary lines to affect Holt, Wasatch elementary students in Davis district

CLEARFIELD — Davis district officials are deciding how to draw the boundary lines to move about 130 students from Holt Elementary to Wasatch Elementary School, now under construction.
