ROY -- Police are searching for the parents of a young toddler that was found wandering on the side of the road this morning.
Chief Greg Whinham said the little girl, who appears to be about 2 or 3-years-old, was spotted just before 7 a.m. near 1650 W. 4500 S.
"She is dressed appropriately, looks like she has been well-cared for," he said. "We haven't been able to find anybody who is missing her."
Whinham said the police department have done reverse 911 calls in the area and went door-to-door asking for information. They have not had anyone calling about their child being missing.
A child being gone for over five hours without any police notification is unusual, Whinham said.
"Now, we have a concern about what's going on on the other end," he said. "This is way outside of anything that is normal."
He said the girl has not been very communicative, but is liking the treats and drinks that she has been given at the police department.
"(She) can't tell us anything of importance," he said. "We can't connect anybody to her yet."
The girl is described as blond, fair skin, and is wearing a pink outfit. If anyone has any information about the girl, call 801-629-8221.
