SYRACUSE — The body of Kenneth Wayne Wallace was found early Saturday morning in Syracuse.

Hunters found Wallace, 41, in a remote field west of Gentile Street, said Syracuse Police Lt. Tracy Jensen. Wallace had been missing since Oct. 21.

Jensen said the police have not confirmed the cause of Wallace’s death, but no signs of foul play were apparent.

Reward offered in case of missing Syracuse man

SYRACUSE — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the safe return of Kenneth Wayne Wallace.

The reward is being offered by Wallace family members. Fliers are being posted throughout the area.

Wallace, 41, of Syracuse, was reported missing Oct. 21 by his girlfriend. “Everything about this is so not like him,” said Paul Cockerel, Wallace’s uncle.

SYRACUSE — Police are searching for a 41-year-old man who has been missing since Sunday.

Kenneth Wayne Wallace, of Syracuse, was last seen leaving his home, which is in the area of 1000 West and 3000 South, between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. on foot. He was wearing a lightweight black jacket, black hat, blue jeans and flip-flops, Syracuse Lt. Tracy Jensen said.

Wallace is listed on the National Crime Center’s system as a missing/endangered person.

WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. — A Missouri teen reported missing more than two years ago told police she escaped a home in a decaying, crime-ridden Illinois village where she was held captive and subjected to sexual assaults that resulted in a child.

About two dozen members of a SWAT team wearing body armor and tactical gear raided the home Thursday afternoon in southwestern Illinois’ Washington Park, taking into custody a 24-year-old man and his mother.

“The conditions in there were definitely deplorable,” St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly, the county’s top prosecutor, told The Associated Press on Friday after consulting with investigators at the scene.
