Police investigate Layton shooting, wonder why man defied orders

LAYTON — Police are investigating why a 22-year-old man failed to comply with police orders, which led to his being shot and admitted to a local hospital in critical condition.

The shooting occurred at Quail Ridge Mobile Home Park, 935 E. Highway 193, Layton, just east of Hill Air Force Base.

Woman killed by cannonball while 4-year-old slept nearby

SAN DIEGO--A 4-year-old was sleeping in the mobile home struck by a cannonball that killed a 33-year-old woman in San Diego County, officials said.
