Morgan district lists expected cuts to budget

MORGAN -- Facing another tough budget year, the Morgan County School Board has tentatively approved a priority list of budget cuts.

Morgan establishing simpler district schedule with early-out, late-start changes

MORGAN — The Morgan County School Board has unanimously approved a late start for Morgan High School and Morgan Middle School, as well as an early out for both district elementary schools on Wednesdays starting in the 2012-13 school year.

The move makes way for implementation of Professional Learning Communities, as well as simplified scheduling districtwide.

Morgan candidates seek to improve county, education

MORGAN — All three candidates for the Morgan County Council will be unopposed, and none of the incumbents is running for his or her current seat.

But one face won’t be new. Robert Kilmer, who has filled an at-large council seat since 2011, filed for the four-year District 3 seat. He will be replacing Howard Hansen, who has served on the board for four years.

MORGAN -- While Morgan School District officials are tired of scrimping to make ends meet, their state legislator is warning that upcoming budgets may be very difficult to put together.

Policy meant to discourage for-profit use of facilities

MORGAN -- The Morgan County School Board is writing its latest policy to discourage for-profit groups from using public school buildings.
