“The Oprah Winfrey Show,” an iconic broadcast that began as a local Chicago talk show and grew over two decades into the foundation of a media empire worth billions, will end its run in 2011 after 25 seasons on the air, Winfrey’s production company said Thursday night.

Dr. Dean Wilson Packard died Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at his home. Getting back into the jeans you haven't worn for nine months may seem as elusive as a good night's sleep after you've had a baby. But experts say it can be done with a little patience and persistence.

Candice Worthington, mother of four from Syracuse, says if she can do it, anyone can.

"After my third baby, I thought, 'Holy crap, I'm in my 30s and I better do something or I could be in trouble,' " she said. She started exercising before becoming pregnant with her fourth baby and continued through the pregnancy and after her six-week checkup. She's lost 20 pounds since April.

This Friday is the third year for the Just for Her Women's Fair and the Taste of Home Cooking School, and the women who attended year two have a message for you.

"They had a blast," said Jennifer Thorpe, Standard-Examiner event coordinator.

"The ladies told me they really loved it. They said on their conference evaluations they liked that they could attend as many or as few of the classes that interested them. They liked to pick and choose."
