Hunt family presents 34th live nativity

WEST HAVEN -- Once again the Hunt family and friends announce the 34th annual "Miracle of Christmas," presented especially for anyone who longs for the true meaning of Christmas.

This live nativity is tenderly brought to life by a live cast and animals and features beautiful costumes and traditional Christmas music. Professional sound and lighting complement the presentation.

Maybe miracles just take the right frame of mind

There's some serious Christmas non-cheer scattered around this year and it's annoying to those of us who are trying to enjoy this season. It's like we're all searching for some kind of magic or miracle when it's right there under our noses. The story of this season, whether you believe it literally or not, is actually packed with miracles and magic.

Think about it. There's this young woman who's getting ready to be married when the God she worships lets her know that she's going to bear his son. Understandably, she's surprised. But she's believed in him all her life and whatever he says, she'll do.

Nativity Event runs Friday, Saturday

KAYSVILLE -- More than 300 international nativities and crîches will be on display again this year in the annual free Nativity Event from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, at the historic Kaysville Tabernacle, 198 W. Center St.

Nativity display may be the last

For years, Chloe Thompson wanted to give everyone a special Christmas gift.

"I always wanted to do a nativity display," she said. "I wanted it to be something where people could come before Christmas, and have it introduce their holiday season."

She and her husband, Roy Thompson, started the Christmas Nativity Celebration at the Kaysville Tabernacle in 2003. That year, it was a one-day event, but it proved so popular that it was quickly expanded to a two-day annual happening.
