OGDEN -- Seven young women will compete Saturday for the chance to be part of the royalty for the Wilderness Circuit Finals rodeo next month.
The Wilderness Circuit is a division of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association that includes top competitors from Utah, Nevada and southern Idaho.
The pageant is the first official event of the rodeo slated for Oct. 22-24 at the Golden Spike Event Center, 1000 E. 1200 North, Ogden. Tickets are on sale now and are available from contestants or the Golden Spike Event Center.
Competing are KariAnne Berry, 20, of Garland; Melissa Boren, 24, of Vernal; Ann Clemmitt, 21, of Reno, Nev.; Dani Frandsen, 19, of Santaquin; Chantell Pilcher, 18, of Morgan; Chenae Shiner, 19, of Roosevelt; and Ashlee Stewart, 21, of Fairview.
The public portion of the contest will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Comfort Suites Hotel, 2250 S. 1200 West, in Ogden. Lunch will begin at noon; cost of lunch is $20 in advance and $30 at the door.

Horsemanship is at 2 p.m. at the Golden Spike Event Center,
Berry is the daughter of Cort and Tammy Berry. She is a sophomore at Snow College working toward a degree in the medical field.
The daughter of Lee Boren and Tecia Shaw, Boren has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Utah State University.
The daughter of Roberta Rumsey and the late Garry Clemmitt, Clemmitt is a student at the University of Nevada working toward a degree in information systems.
Frandsen is the daughter of David and Heidi Frandsen. She is a student at Utah Valley University working toward a degree in communications.
Pilcher, the daughter of Curt and Carol Pilcher, plans to study photography at Weber State University.
Shiner is the daughter of Shaune and Michelle Shiner. She is a student at Utah State University studying to be a radiology MRI/CT technician.
The daughter of Wayne Stewart and Kathy Nelson, Stewart is a student at both Snow College and Image Works Academy of Hair Design. She works as a hairstylist while working toward a degree in nursing for Life Flight.
