The Fab 5 cloggers will have a chance to cool their heels for a while.
The Morgan County sisters learned halfway through Wednesday night's two-hour broadcast that they did not make the Top 5 acts in the "America's Got Talent" season finale.
"I'm just proud of them, and really happy they are coming home," said the women's grandmother, Laraine Whitear, of Peterson. "It was a great experience, and they met a lot of people they truly enjoyed."
The sisters are Veva Ahlstrom, 24; Cambria Gibson, 28; Ayrion Myers, 31, Shaundalee Morgan, 33; and LaChere Vawdrey, 35.
They took up clogging as children, growing up on the Whitear farm, in Peterson. The women stopped dancing together as they grew up, married and had children. Two now live in Idaho, one in Arizona, and two reside in Morgan County.
One sister challenged the others to revive the act for "America's Got Talent" auditions. The group beat out thousands of other auditioners to make it to the Top 10.
But the ultimate prize, $1 million and a chance to headline a Las Vegas show, went to Kevin Skinner, a Kentucky country singer/songwriter who formerly worked as a chicken catcher.
Whitear said the women's children, husbands and extended families are excited for their return.
"We're just happy they are coming home now," Whitear said. "We have missed them."
