SALT LAKE CITY -- The Mormon Tabernacle Choir will be accepting audition applications for all vocal parts from now through midnight Aug. 15.
This time period will be the only time an application may be downloaded and received for the 2011 audition cycle, according to a news release from the choir.
Application forms are available for download at www.mormontabernaclechoir.org/auditions.
Completed applications, including a required tape/CD, will need to be received in the choir office by the Aug. 15 deadline, the news release states. No personal deliveries to the choir office can be accepted because of security regulations.
The next application period following this one will be in July 2012.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
* Be between 25 and 55 years of age.
* Live within a 100-mile radius of Temple Square.
* Be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing.
Those who complete the full audition cycle will be accepted into the Temple Square Chorale and will complete a 16-week training school before final acceptance into the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
The choir's website contains detailed information from choir members about the audition process.
