A quiet Occupy Ogden Christmas

OGDEN -- While the Occupy Ogden camp shrinks, life is starting to look up for its remaining members.

The camp used to sprawl along the whole northern side of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden on 23rd Street, with at least two dozen members.

Occupy Salt Lake City activist Lionel Tiepanlev is carried out of the protest’s encampment after being arrested by police for refusing to leave Saturday. City officials rescinded permits for the group to stay in the park overnight on Friday, about 12 hours after a man was found dead of a likely drug overdose and carbon monoxide poisoning in a Pioneer Park tent. SALT LAKE CITY — Police arrested 19 protesters supporting the Occupy Wall Street movement who refused to remove tents from a downtown park late Saturday but avoided the violent clashes that have occurred in other cities across the nation. Police say the body of a man in his 40s was found Friday morning in a tent. A cause of death was not available, but authorities say it did not immediately appear to be foul play.
