OGDEN -- Interim Police Chief Wayne Tarwater said Tuesday he believes the release of police tapes from the Jan. 4 shooting is a good thing, allowing the public to hear what happened.

Listeners can hear what the police went through and that, despite the dangerous situation, both veteran and young officers were able "to think on their feet" and perform well, he said.

Tarwater credits that to good training.
