Inspiration abounds when eight private yards and one farm open for the Ogden Valley Garden Tour. The tour, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 14 — rain or shine — is a fundraiser for the Ogden Nature Center.
Tickets are $20, and can be purchased in advance at the Ogden Nature Center, 966 W. 12th St. Tickets are also available in advance through the website, www.ogdennaturecenter.org, or during the tour at participating gardens.

1. Droubay Garden, 980 S. 8800 East, Huntsville
Cultivated by master gardener Rosie Droubay, this garden has a variety of plants many people don’t consider hardy enough for the Ogden Valley, such as a tricolor beech. The yard features a bower leading to a firepit, and a winding lawn path leading to an orchard area. Garden visitors need to watch their footing, as older parts of this garden have uneven concrete.
Music in the garden will be provided by Girls with Guitars, Anne Thoombs and Teresa Ellis.
