Vicki was in Budapest, Hungry, when Salt Lake City was announced as the site for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and volunteered with SLOC during the games. Steve was helping with National Guard during the games.

Volunteers: Time well worth it

Ten years ago, the greatest winter-sport athletes from around the world converged on Utah for the 2002 Winter Olympics, and 10 years ago, thousands of volunteers from Utah worked to provide a stellar experience for the athletes and their coaches and families, as well as dignitaries and fans from around the world.

Memories -- not souvenirs -- of 2002 Olympics are priceless

It's hard to forget the navy blue fleece berets or the raucous musical groups.

Security was tight with 9/11 five months earlier

With a price tag of about $30 million, security and emergency response services for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City were massive undertakings.

SNOWBASIN -- While the 2002 Winter Olympics put this formerly obscure resort firmly on the world map, it also helped forge a partnership that lives on today with a nation halfway around the world.

Skiing events put Snowbasin on map

It has been 10 years since the Winter Olympics came to Snowbasin, but the impact of the 2002 games will be felt at the resort years into the future.

Curling and everything else at the Ice Sheet

OGDEN -- Michael Dellos volunteered for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics because it seemed like the chance of a lifetime. He chose The Ice Sheet, the curling venue in Ogden, because it was closest to his North Ogden home.

Plenty planned to reflect on 2002

There will be much hoopla and many reasons to celebrate in the coming week as Top of Utah residents remember the 2002 Winter Olympics.
