(UNEDITED) Satellite data from NASA shows no increase in global temperature since 1998. Mother Nature has provided two consecutive severe winters, and some scientists predict global cooling instead. Over 31,000 have signed a petition denying claims of global-warming alarmists.
Despite this documented evidence, environmentalists argue that every drastic weather-related event is due to increased carbon dioxide caused by burning fuels, which supposedly, causes rising global temperatures. Carbon dioxide is a non-polluting natural substance required by plants, and man contributes less than five percent.
Based on "opinions" of the government's hand-picked bought-and-paid-for scientists, they insist "the debate is over" in their favor. What debate? They, including their scientists, General Electric, Al Gore, and other global-warming technology profiteers, have refused any debate, perhaps partly because Gore's Nashville mansion consumes more that 20 times the energy used by the average American home.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger stated: "California will be a leader in the fight against global warming", yet he commutes to and from work in his private jet daily, which does about as much damage to the environment in one hour as a small car in a year. The California Energy Commission proposed "programmable thermostats", which could enable utility officials to monitor and control thermostats, water heaters, appliances, and lights by remote control to ensure consumers stayed within acceptable boundaries of energy use.
"Global warming" is a pretext for "cap and trade" legislation, federal regulation and control of industry
(to virtually slam-dunk full-blown socialism), economy-crippling energy taxation, and skyrocketing prices
government's biggest and most lucrative power-grab since the 1913 Federal Reserve Act.
