Obama, focus on reforming the FDA

Last Edit: 2 weeks 2 days ago (Nov 4 2009 - 10:20am)

I want President Barack Obama to know that I am an 81-year old retired CPA in Ogden.

I have had various medical problems during my lifetime to which I have always tried to apply alternative medicine solutions. Now a mammogram indicates that I have probable breast cancer.

Six years ago I bought a Terraquant soft Laser to fight chronic back and hip pain which has worked very successfully. This soft Laser machine is used overseas to cure cancer very successfully. However, in the U.S. the use of soft Laser to treat cancer is illegal because of Food and Drug Administration regulations.

It makes no sense for Obama to be attempting to revamp Medicare and Medicaid to cut costs before you look at all the rules the FDA has in place to protect the profits of the big pharmaceutical companies and which prohibit many alternative care procedures which work very well.

I urge Obama to back off on the path he chosen to bring down health care costs until he explores the many idiocies the FDA has in place regarding treatments that actually work such as soft laser.

There is much waste and graft within the Medicare system. As a long-time CPA I am going on record that these abuses must be addressed before any new health care legislation will ever accomplish what you want it to accomplish. Correct the system, President Obama, and then pass new laws.

Dorothy E. Littrell, CPA

FDA

"Control oil, you control nations. Control food and you control people" Henry Kissinger Water Flouridation causes Bone Flourosis and Sally Field's "Boniva" isn't going to help. The FDA approved its use in Pablum for babies. Pasteurization of milk removes all the natural nutrients. Teflon and Aluminum used in cooking utensils causes cancer, reduced blood flow and metal toxicicity; likewise for Mercury in Vaccines and Dental fillings. Radiation causes Cancers; it is simply barbaric to use it as a solution. Growth hormones cause cancer in meat. Uranium laced fertilizers make Cigarrettes a death sentence. High Fructose corn sweeteners poison the body while more expensive Cane sugar is used in Stills to produce Rum. Switching from alchohol based fuels to leaded fuel caused a host of lead related poisoning. Chemtrails using aluminum and barium are added to Genetically Modified Crops to force farmers into business with Monsanto, ADL etc and Americans to eat poison.

Don Rumsfeld's buddy Arthur Hull was appointed to the FDA in 1980 after Reagan had his little run in with John Hinckley; he approved Aspartame, a pig fattening drug that turns to formaldehyde in the body. Splenda turns to Chlorine in the body. Cholesterol lowering Statins cause Liver damage and arterial inflammation. MSG causes cancer. Phen Phen causes heart failure. Vioxx causes strokes. Thimerosol in Vaccines causes Guilliane-Barre Syndrome ie "Death". Squalene Oil used iin H1N1 Vaccines causes the body to attack myelen nerve sheating resulting in a large list of Auto-Immune disorders.

Such is the legacy of the FDA. Jesus said "A man's foes are the men of his own house" Now do you believe Him?

This is one I know about.

This is one I know about.  Prescription Drug User Fee Act was enacted in 1992.  It allows FDA to collect fees from PhRMA companies to pay for approval of their drugs.

PDUFA was expanded In 2002 and at the same time, other funding for FDA was cut.  PDUFA specifies that the fees that are collected go to drug approval.  At this point in time, FDA's pretty much sole source of funding is PhRMA fees, which must be used for approving new drugs.  Their enforcement budget is nothing.

The only way to "reform" FDA so that it is actually serving it's intended purpose is to fund it.  How is that going to go over?

This is a great example of the regulated entities controlling the regulator.  Want some peanut butter with that?
