(UNEDITED)The animal rights activists that are protesting the mink farms in the past have demonstrated that they will take extreme measures. These measures include trespassing, vandalism of property, and releasing the caged mink. It is ironic to note that the past release of domestic mink resulted in their starvation, road kill, and death by exposure.
It is interesting to note that two years ago, during a harsh winter, the wild animals were starving for months. Most of the deer fawns for that year were lost during this difficult period. Where were the animal rights activists during this time of wildlife peril? Surprisingly, it was the Utah hunting community who braved the cold and provided feed to the dying herds. The animal rights activists were nowhere to be found!
The Morgan officials correctly placed the safety of all involved as their first priority. We also need to remember that these hardworking mink ranchers are making a living while performing a legal activity. Why is no one protesting the marijuana farmers who had 4,000 plants up on the eastern mountains? Is this not a bigger problem, which requires more attention?
Animal rights activists have demonstrated they are not concerned for animals. Animal rights activists have demonstrated they are not concerned about our community. Animal rights activists are simply concerned with imposing their will on our Morgan community. This is a classic bullying situation.
In the end, the activists will enter our community, and overstep the law as they impose their will on the local ranchers. This is what they have done in the past, and represents the type of people they are. As for my community, we will respect the law, and stand shoulder to shoulder with our ranching neighbors. This is what we have done in the past, and represents the type of people we are.

"IF"
“IF” the mink were released and “IF” the mink died of starvation, road kill and death by exposure, I am sure there was no waste to their lives lost in the wilds of Morgan. I am sure that “IF” the mink were released then at least it was a death that did not end up as someone's hat. I bet the eagle and hawk population is doing great up in Morgan.
Being anti-constitution will backfire every time
I don't think the fur industry is aware that the more they shine the spotlight on themselves, the more quickly they bring themselves to bankrupcy and obsolescence.
And stifling legal protest activity has other adverse affects, such as exposing the location of your farms to animal rights activists (which they will use for additional protests), as shown in this post:

Foolish and myopic.
