Thank Republicans for state of the economy

Last Edit: Nov 11 2009 - 2:03pm

(UNEDITED) The Republican Party needs to be thanked for all the things they have done for the low and middle class of this country and this state. The Republicans have, for the past eight years managed to repeal all the rules and regulations that were put into place to protect the people of the United States from predatory practices by Big Business.

The Republicans have profited greatly from their endeavors in this area and that, coupled with all the do-nothings in the past eight years produced the greatest recession since 1983. We, the low and middle class thank the Republicans, too, for fighting to stop the Healthcare Reform that would make it easier for 36 million low and middle class citizens to get healthcare that would make life better, but would cost the healthcare insurance companies and the pharmaceutical manufacturers to have their profits reduced from multi-million dollars to a few million dollars each year.

There are a few Democrats who can be added to the mix of the do-nothings. The economy is at a low point, thanks to the efforts of the Republicans, who wanted to line their pockets with hundreds of dollars from the rich upper class who they really represent, coupled with the reduced taxes on those well-to-do, but poor upper class people who will benefit from this recession in the end. It is hoped that the Republicans and the "Blue-dog" Democrats have happy lives in the future.

Debt

The Constitution does not provide for any Debt. It does not authorize interest or penalties on IRS tax notices. It does not even authorize the IRS to collect tax for the Federal Reserve. The Fed is not even part of the Government and the only way for them to collect anything is for you to fill out a W-4 proclaiming your employer an agent for teh Private Corporation we call the Fed. That said, failure to pay will land you in jail.
Obama does not print money; Bernanke directs the Treasury/Mint to print and charges interest for doing so. US debt is growing by billions every day with taxpayers footing the bill for intentional bad lending practices. Housing is only 1 part; the biggest is manufacturing: end steel production, move auto plants overseas, bulldoze machinery and plants in the US, declare bankruptcy, receive tax payer bailout, sell the worthless carcass to taxpayers, repeat process.
No help coming from Pelosi, her husband got the contract to develop Hunter's Point Naval Shipyard, one of the most expensive pieces of real estate on Earth. No help from Obama, this rags to riches story has critical pieces of the puzzle missing like his eligibility to hold office or obtain a valid US Passport. Like it or not, US citizens are debtor slaves to foreign corporations squatting on land not subject to the laws of the land. Wasnington DC in fact is a Sovereign Ship under Maritime Law, hijacked by the soon to be enforcers of Sharia Law. The gold braid surrounding every indoor and portable US Flag in US Courtrooms, Government Buildings, Ships at sea as well as State Flags boldly declares the Constitution is no longer the law of the land; a law usurped by Executive Order.
Ben Franklin said "What you have here is a Republic if you can keep it" That ended when Defense forces were used in Wars of agression, all started by very similar False Flag events.

Picklesdaddy wrote 12 weeks 4 days ago

I think you should recheck your facts.

We can all agree that the economic mess we're in is larely the result of irresponsible lending by the mortgage industry. If you check your history, you'll see that the Clinton administration pushed for and got the regulations forcing lenders to grant loans to those who could never pay them back. These regulations caused the problem. They never protected anyone. Whyle Republicans tried to repeal the regulations when they were in power, the Democrats filibustered until Republicans simply gave up. Had the mortgage industry been allowed to reject bad loan applications as the Republicans wanted, we would not be in the mess we are in now.
I agree that the deficit happened under the Bush administration. Let's look at what cost so much money as to create the deficit. We were running a surplus until the war in Afganistan. This war would never have happened if Bill Clinton had accepted Osama Bin Laden as a prisoner on one of the two occasions he was offered to us.
Now, let's look at the economy durring the eight years of the Bush administration. We were in a recession when Bush took office, He took action imediately to cut taxes and put the money into the economy where it belongs. The recession began to turn around before the end of his first year in office. By his second year we had lower unemployment than at any time durring the Clinton administration. The economy coninued to grow at a very healthy rate until 2006 when the Democrats took over Congress. The last two years of the Bush administration saw a horrible decline in the economy at the hands of a congress who spentat a rate previously unheard of. As I recall, President Obama was a member of that congress.
Enter President Obama. His solution to the national debt was to print more money to pay it off. As a result, the dollar is now worth less than the paper it is printed on.
Yes, thank you Republicans for not telling the Democrats to sit down and shut up. You could have saved us all a lot of grief.

Picklesdaddy - try less Rush and Beck more reading real facts

I think you should get you facts from some place other than Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck.
Funny how conservatives at so quick to blame ALL the nation's woes on Obama after only one year in office and yet not see that Bush had 8 years to screw things up, but here Picklesdaddy is willing to blame Clinton for the problems that Bush had. The whole Bush presidency and administration was nothing more than another Balloon Boy story, a lie, a hoax and it made some people very rich, and rodded all the rest of us. The sooner the Republican party finishes dieing out the better.

Picklesdaddy wrote 12 weeks 3 days ago

Maybe you could site some facts of your own.

Everythign I've said here is what I've lived through. My entire post is verifiable fact. It did not come from Rush or Beck. I would ask you to check facts that do not come from MSNBC and moveon.org. I am not casting blame anywhere. I am merely stating historical fact. I have been an adult living in this country through the entire timeframe cited in my post. I seriously doubt that you can claim both of those things. I will admit that I resent those who would abandon the free market capitalist principles that made this country the greatest country on earth. I do not have to resort to name calling. I have enough history on my side. If you want to have a civilized debate of real issues, I'm all for that. Leave the baseless acusations out of it though.

ledbetter wrote 11 weeks 14 hours ago

So then...

your " historical facts" are based on your experiences. That makes them anecdotal at best. What you "see" and what you "live" are not a very good cross section of the whole.
The stock market fell within days of 9/11. So Bush had been in ofice for 8 months at that time. The economy did not recover in just 3 months. Therefore your "facts" are wrong. Do tell of the "spending", other than 2 wars that were not included in the budget. Oh. yeah, there was the AIG buyout, the handouts to the largest of the banks, and the failure of Merrill, Lehman, Bear Stearns, etc. The train was rolling out of control since before Clinton. The derivatives instruments are the true culprit. If you get a chance, watch the Frontline about Brooksley Born. She recognized the problem and in 1996 tried to alert the Fed and the SEC to the dangers. Of course derivatives had been around for years. So to lay the blame on presidents is like shooting fish. It was greed, tried and true. Greenspan is really the demon here. People need to realize that presidents have subordinates that run thiings. They are supposed to know what they are doing and do their jobs. Presidents do not have their fingers in everything. They do not run everything. When greed and cronyism take hold, you have a problem.
Fact is, does it matter who got us here? We are here. We need to get rid of the Goldman Sachs cronies that carry so much weight in our monetary policies. If you get sick, does it matter how you got it? You just want to get well.

Hey you right picklesdaddy

Hey you right picklesdaddy - I have not lived my WHOLE life in this country, not yet anyways because I still have a lot of living to do, so like when did you die? I just love it when Rush and Beck fans deny they listen to talk shows and trash radio, is it embarrassment or you just lack any thing new and independent in thought because both Rush/Beck have been off the air so much as of late...LOL. I'll tell ya what - it is you the Republican conservatives that are on the defense now so you show me your facts and back them up and then maybe, just maybe I will stop teasing you. If you what a civilized debate what the hell are you doing here on-line, that is just stupid, if you what to yell words and toss out meaningless number go to one of your dorky ultra conservative sites. I hear efealtis is looking for a new playmate. Now put up your stupid and empty facts so I can taunt you again.

Conclusions

How Droll...
Well, George, or is it Rush, or is it Info, or is it... ah heck, I cannot keep track of all your monikers...
I have been trying to figure out why you come into these conversations... I know that there must be opposition in all things, but you don't provide any real opposition, just ridicule and detraction.
Are you so lonely that you must hang out online all day and jump in and make fun of people just to get a little attention? Have you noticed how no one actually talks with you in this forum...that there are only maybe 3 people that even posted replies to you?
Haven't you wondered why that is?
Why is it that you don't actually bring anything useful into a conversation just name calling, conjecture, ad hominem, hate, bigotry and a whole host of grammatical mistakes?
I kind of feels like we have teleported back through time, back to the days of High School...
Oh, well, that might explain a few things... is that it, “George”?, are you a Student in High School still? Were you neglected by your parents? What is your sad story that keeps you out here, begging for attention?
Part of the problem is, you don't know the first thing about me, or anyone in this forum. You assume (and we all know what assume means) that you know things...but you don't. You proclaim all these “facts” about people: that they listen to Rush or Beck, Fox News, or something...that they are Mormons or are home-schooled, or something... that they are Republican, Right Wing, or something... and when they try to tell you the real deal, the truth behind who they are, you ignore it or deny it... like what you believe in your own mind actually has any bearing on reality...
Now, if you would like to know about me... just ask. I am more than willing to tell you all about me, so that you might have some facts to back up your next statements.
Then you mis-quote people, take things out of context, change the meanings of words, and throw out all common sense when people post information, real information, facts and figures that are easily found and verified using Google (unless your High School uses filtering software, then you might have trouble looking some things up)...and you deny the facts in favor of whatever fantasy you live in. How is any rational person supposed to compete with the twisted version of "reality" you live in?
So, while you live at home with your parents, and live off them, posting to these forums...some of us are out in the real world making a living... but I don't begrudge you your youth...
So, to help things along, I have come up with a simple set of questions that should make it through the filter software of your high school, just so we can bring you “up to speed” on the current topic:
   1. When was Bill Clinton elected president?   2. Which party had control of the Congress (both House and Senate) when BC was elected?   3. What was the National Debt when BC was elected?   4. Did the power shift parties in Congress when BC was in office?   5. When BC left office, what was the National Debt?   6. When did George W. Bush get elected as president?   7. Which party had control of the Congress (both House and Senate) when GWB was elected?   8. What was the National Debt when GWB was elected?   9. Did the power shift parties in Congress when GWB was in office?  10. When GWB left office, what was the National Debt?  11. When did Barack Obama get elected as president?  12. Which party had control of the Congress (both House and Senate) when BO was elected?  13. What was the National Debt when BO was elected?  14. What is the National Debt today...?  15. During the Transition of Clinton to Bush, what was the state of the Economy?  16. During the Transition of Bush to Obama, what was the state of the Economy?  17. When Bush proposed the Stimulus, what was the reaction of the Democrats?  18. When Bush proposed the Bail-Outs, what was the reaction of the Democrats?  19. When Obama continued the Stimulus and Bail-Outs, what was the reaction of the Democrats?  20. Who controls the Spending of Tax Dollars? And under what circumstances does that change?  21. What year were Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac first able to accept Sub Prime Mortgages?  22. Did Bush know about the coming Mortgage Meltdown, and did he do anything about it?  23. While Obama was a Senator, did he know anything about the coming Mortgage Meltdown, and did he do anything about it?  24. Is America Socialist, a Democracy, or a Republic?  25. Essay Question: Is the US Constitution out dated? Be specific, outline what articles or amendments are out dated and why. Give examples in modern law or court documents that prove your point.  26. Bonus Essay: Is there a means for altering or changing the Constitution? Compare and Contrast this process with your essay for #25, and explain why your points have not been changed.I'll check back for the answers later. But I can already tell you what the anseres will be... you gave it away in your post above...
"I'll tell ya what - it is you the Republican conservatives that are on
the defense now so you show me your facts and back them up and then
maybe, just maybe I will stop teasing you."
But then you say:
"Now put up your stupid and empty facts so I can taunt you again."
So, which is it? What will it be?

Congress vs. President

Congress is really where much of the power is at. The President merely has the power to sign or veto a bill.
Unfortunately, we have had a Democrat Congress since 2006. This means that all of the spending under Bush and Obama are the fault of the Democrat Congress and Bush and Obama.
Change? All we got was more of the same...
In truth, there isn't much difference between the Democrats and Repubicans any more...
I am a Moderate, and I am RIGHT of BOTH the Republicans and Democrats...
Things have slid so far LEFT that there just isn't really a distinction, unless you want to rename the Democrats "Socialists" and the Republicans "Liberals"... then we have a clear picture of the current political landscape.
I wish Obama had brought "change"... maybe we would have STOPPED the Bush Spending trend, stopped the corruption in Government, stopped the war...
Instead, Obama comes in and continues Bush's spending, continues the Corruption in Government, and continues the War...

Congress vs. President

Too bad your letter is so full of assumptions, the main one being "that all of the spending under Bush and Obama are the fault of the Democratic Congress."  If you buy a house, lived in by another family for six years, are you responsible for all of the utilitiy bills the prior family accumulated during that time?  I don't think so.  In reality Bush and the Republican Congress were responsible for the spending under their watch.  Obama and the current Democratic Congress have their faults, but the bills piled up under Bush's tenure are his responsibility, not theirs.

You should learn to read, or to at least comprehend what you read.

What a double stander queen you are rwj

What a double stander queen you are rwj, here you say it is not the presidents fault for the past 8 years of the Republicans putting the screws to the people, but then you turn around and blame everything on Obama as the current president after only one year in office. You blame Obama without facts or causes for everything - you even blamed Obama for the shootings at Fort Hood without facts or causes, so just be a man and fess up - 'your a little white Mormon boy racist and you know it.'

rwj wrote 12 weeks 5 days ago

Hey Rush why did you change your logon?

Hey Rush check my post obama wasn't mentioned once Palosi and Reid are both white obama has only been in office for 11 months not five years and you assume to much am I really white, am I really a mormon, am I really a racist, do I have a black son in law, do I have a mixed race grandson, what do you really know?
Why don’t you stick to the subject instead of dealing the race card everytime?
Apparently you’re skilled in liberal debating tactics “if you can’t argue with facts attack, attack, attack your apponant personally”.

rwj I know your a loser but come on you make it so easy to poke fun at you...LOL.
Keep it up Does Not Play... don't let these mOrMoN rasict rest.

I am going to pop you bubble today rwj...

Well I am going to pop you bubble today rwj- but I am not Rush, but I will say “HI” to him when I see him (you keep getting it wrong).
So are you now ready to admit your a racist after all, are you ready to man up yet? Your as white as Palose and Reid are, but your all marshmallow inside not a real person. And yes your a Mormon and a racist too, it shows, you have no black son in law (you lie like Beck, or did you learn that one in the back of the seminary building) but I would not blame you daughter for it, after all your racist remakes will push her to being against you, that is if your a daughter is really yours.
Your the one playing the race card every time, if you need some help with that call up you friend Beck on his phone or send an e-mail.
Liberal debating tactics....LOL.....you have now idea of who your dealing with Brother Bummer. Now how about some real facts on the topic and not just you crying and screaming that you lost to Obama and his winning team.

rwj wrote 12 weeks 5 days ago

presidents can't

Presidents can't DO what you said without congress. Congress spends the money, presidents can only sign or veto, the last five years both houses, all committees, of congress have been run by democrats, NO VETOS POSSIBLE. So thank Palosi and Reid not the GOP.

Ryan wrote 12 weeks 5 days ago

rwj

It's true that congress is mostly responisble for how the federal government spends money. I do, however, disagree about how long the Dems held a majority in congress, and it was only the last 2 years of the Bush administration and 11 months of Pres. Obamas. Even though I'm a registered republican, EVEN I have to admit that the republicans were mostly (not all... but largely) to blame, compared to the republicans. American greed is the most to blame of anyone... then probably Allan Greenspan. I say this because I don't get rapped up in party pollitic B.S. I just call it how I see it.
