Group provides free dental care for kids

(UNEDITED) At Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, we think health care should be a necessity, and that's why we administer the Regence Caring Foundation for Children, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that provides free dental care to children who are not eligible for governmental programs (such as Medicaid or S-CHIP) and whose families do not have dental insurance.

A big thanks to those who supported our fundraiser Oct. 21 in Salt Lake City. Nearly 850 people attended a concert featuring Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina.

The funds raised will no doubt put a dent in the Caring Foundation waiting list of 250 children who need care. Our program provides up to $1,000 of care per child per year, and there are dentists throughout Utah who help.

In 2008, 1,757 Utah children received comprehensive dental care through the Foundation, and with yours support, we can help so many more.

Lean more about how you can help (and how to refer a family in need) at www.caringfoundationforchildren.org or call 801-333-5585.
