(UNEDITED) I feel I must give a second view of those who work as public servants, especially those who work for Pleasant View City. Every city employee I have had the pleasure of working with or have observed their work effort need to be praised instead if being berated.
I see them working tirelessly to make Pleasant View a great place to live and raise a family. They are out all hours of the day and night clearing our roads during the winter months, whether it be on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or Valentines Day. I have driven from our city to North Ogden on clear roads in the winter until I reach the North Ogden City limits, then I'm driving on snow packed or icy roads.
Pleasant View may be the exception here, but your editorial zeroed in on this city, and I think if one were to follow through your reasoning, it was very shallow and not what I would consider insightful. There are more pressing problems in the northern Utah area that could be addressed, such as growing crime, child abuse, spouse abuse, loss of buying power because of dollar devaluation on the global market. Leave the hard working city employees out of your myopic vision and let them do what what they do so well
