It's terrifying to have no health insurance

(UNEDITED)After years of not being able to see a doctor or a dentist when I needed to because I am a full-time student, with a full-time student husband, both of us struggling to make ends meet to become future teachers of this nation's children I am proud of our current leaders for remembering ALL of the people who help support their job, not just the lobbyists and super wealthy.

As a kid who grew up in a family with no health insurance, I know how terrifying it can be for a child to get sick, for a mother to find a lump in her breast that she fears she cannot afford to treat, and to watch a brother lose the use of his right arm at the age of 23 due to a car accident which he was unable to treat because of the cost.

After nearly a century of false starts, this is the farthest we've ever come to enacting real health care reform, which I might add, was first addressed by President Theodore Roosevelt. These are historic accomplishments.

All of our citizens have been, for some time now, entitled to an education. Now we will ALL be able to treat our bodies as well as our minds.
