Obama has decided to send more troops and how to pay for it is the big question. We should look into the pay schedules all politicians are drawing monthly, right down to our mayors. How about voluntary pay cuts; how much will that go toward the price tag on defense, and the national debt? While we're being unselfish, how about all the free health care that is showered on them and the self-approved pay raises they get?
The veterans need the free health care, instead of it being showered on those who can afford to furnish their own. It's about time they paid for their freedom along with the little guy. Instead, the elderly may lose more Medicare and Social Security. Taxes will likely have to be increased.
How about the thousands of homeless, including veterans who have protected our homeland?
Previous generations of politicians considered it a privilege and their patriotic duty to serve their fellow man and that was true patriotism. Isn't it time to take reassessments of our own before being patrons to others?
