(UNEDITED) It always strikes me as silly when politicians and religious fanatics speak with such great authority over science and scientific concepts. This is how I felt as I read Sarah Palin's December 11th viewpoint "Copenhagen's political science."
We tend to forget that science is neutral, and does promote any religious or political agenda. Scientists collect data and present the data to advance a theory or concept. Unless someone comes along to present data that strikes down a widely accepted theory or concept, it is intellectually dishonest to disagree with a concept simply because it does not conform to your political or religious views. It's one thing to disagree with something, it's another thing to give specific reasons why and present data that demonstrates your disagreements. This is what argument and debate is all about.
Perhaps Palin and conservatives need to look squarely in the mirror to see who really is politicizing climate research?
