(UNEDITED)Why is it that Christian's have their religious views smothered and concealed while LDS members have their so called 'facts' so widely accepted and taught? In Utah public schools today there is a class called Seminary which teaches the Mormon religion. When looking at the lists of other classes Utah public schools offer, there are no Bible classes in which Christianity can be taught. Many private high schools have Bible classes, some may be called differently, in which they teach the truth of the Bible. These schools do not offer seminary classes, but a major attraction of these schools is the fact that they are Christian or Catholic based. When considering public schools there is no warning of the religious views that are presented there. In fact it says that we are not to teach religions. So why can Mormons teach their 'religion' to many students?
This year I transferred from a private school to Northridge High. Previously, I attended a Christian based school where I had taken many Bible classes over the years. Several months ago, I was in a meeting to see how many credit hours I needed to graduate. I was informed that there were no Bible, or Christian related, classes. At first I did not mind this, but soon I began to think. Students can take their Seminary classes, why are there no options to take Bible classes? This makes no sense of why one religion can be taught while others can not. It seems very unfair and as if the Mormon religion is glorified above anything else. Even when looking at it from a distance, it still does not seem right that some religious views are taught while others can't even be mentioned.
