In keeping with the "Holiday Season" -- Christmas Season would be politically incorrect to some folks -- and the season of giving, I would like to offer to the Obama administration and its supporters my best wishes for a better year.
The current administration is packed with highly educated, elitist, "whiz kids" from academia. They are for the most part woefully shy on real-world experience and practical thinking; many are obviously educated beyond their intelligence.
Their urbane, esoteric aura provides a statement to the American people; "We progressives know all there is to know, have decided what's best, and will direct this country where we see fit.
And, "we definitely don't need no stinking Republicans, independents, or "blue dogs" to get in our way."
Or so it would seem. They obviously don't care if they bankrupt the country in the process with more government programs.
Perfect as they may be, there is always room for improvement. In the spirit of the season I offer this list of insightful reading to those in need:
* Harry Reid -- Books: "Maximizing Surrender Tactics" From the Vichy French; "Proper Etiquette for When and How to Hug a Speaker of the House"
* Nancy Pelosi -- Book: "Improving Your Memory -- How to Know When, What, and Why You Don't Remember CIA Intelligence Briefings"
* Barney Frank -- Book: "Elocution for Cherubs," from "W,"
* Tim Geithner -- Book: "Income Tax Preparation for Beginners,"
* Michelle Obama -- Book: "Fifty Million Reasons You Could Have Been Proud of Your Country Before Barack Was Nominated -- Volumes I through MMVIII," From the Proud Americans,
* Barack Obama -- Books: "Becoming Emperor of The World "by Napoleon Bonaparte; "Bowing and Scraping Made Easy," "Beer Summit #1" or "Rush to Judgment," From the Police League,
* Joe Biden -- Books: "Foot in Mouth Cures" by Spiro Agnew; "History of Television and Radio Fireside Chats of FDR,"
* Al Gore -- Book: "Global Warming For Profit" By Al Gore, Internet Inventor
* Hillary Clinton -- Book: "Channeling Bill" or "You Want Bill's Opinion, Ask Him,"
* Bill Clinton -- Book: "Hillary's 2012 White House," By Hillary,
These aren't real books but some of the titles are fertile ground for the up-and-coming author and are just waiting to be written. Next year there will be a whole new list of titles; let us hope it's shorter.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to the top of Utah.
