I agree with one statement in Dr. Brian Moench's diatribe against common sense and for scientific consensus, "Climate change is inevitable" (Feb. 12 guest commentary). But add to that, the God of this universe is in control, not man! Everything else this elitist had to say about how "virtually the entire world's scientific community...even the medical profession...disagree with Rep. Gibson.
Dr. Moench's commentary is debunked (DeWeese Report: Rarely has a political movement with so much power collapsed so fast, certainly not since the fall of the Berlin Wall) thanks to a diligent hacker (bless his heart!).
Those who deny the e-mail revelations want to crucify the messenger (hacker) for exposing the hoax, crying foul while attacking anyone daring to question their statements. In the DeWeese Report, Jan. 2010, "Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center, working to expose the hoax for 15 years says, "The last time human kind was strapped into such a mental straight jacket was during the Dark Ages...an era of ignorance, superstition, social chaos, and repression." Dr. Moench is labeling Rep. Gibson and the rest of the deniers as heretics. Would he prefer to put us on the rack or torch us at the stake?
Contrary to Dr. Moench's claim of being in the corner with 97 percent of elite scientists, the National Hurricane Center's (former) Chief Frank wrote that skeptics "are numerous and well qualified," citing the endorsement of a challenge coming from two scientists of the University of Oregon, signed by 32,000 "including 9,000 Ph.Ds. More than 700 scientists have endorsed a 231-page Senate minority report that questions man-made global warming." The Heartland Institutes's meetings led to more than 800 scientists' endorsement of an 881-page document, created by 40 authors with outstanding academic credentials, all questioning man-made warming claims.
Even though I grew up a "dumb farm girl" in Idaho, a generation ahead of Rep. Gibson on his "farm" in Utah, I keep house plans for esthetics and to improve the quality of air I breathe indoors. These plants consume CO2, which I exhale to live, and exhale oxygen, which I inhale. I do understand that concept.
As DeWeese says, "In the name of environmental protection and legitimate concern over the survival of the planet, Americans and others around the world have voluntarily surrendered their freedoms because they were told it was necessary to survive. They would never have given up those freedoms simply to promote an ideology like Marxism. Global warming was invented to cover the real intent." Just today, FOX News reports the Climategate U-turn as scientist at center of row, Phil Jones, admits, data for vital 'hockey stick graph' is lost; there has been no global warming since 1995; warming periods have happened before, but not due to man-made changes. Professor Jones admitted his record keeping is "not as good as it should be."
With the truth out, recent polls show that 59 percent of the American people say they fully believe scientists "falsified research data to support their own beliefs about global warming." Yes, many were almost duped by the new Hitlers of this generation. For weeks, I have been laughing at God's sense of humor as he demonstrates to the Al Gores of the word, with record cold and snow in the east and south and around the world, who is really causing climate change. His convenient truth!
