(UNEDITED)I find the prospect of tearing down the Cinedome 70 absolutely appalling!
Why couldn't the Cinedome be reopened as a Brewvies type venue or a music venue or even as a museum? Why couldn't it become a community art center? You know, like the ones Ogden and Salt Lake City have? Real cities treasure their history.
o we need yet another eyesore of a FULL lot with a bunch of cars no one is going to buy? Doesn't the consumer already have the choice of Tony Divino Toyota, Freeway Cadillac Mazda, Rocky Mountain Chrysler, Ogden Auto Plaza, Ken Garff, Wasatch Front Kia, Saturn of Riverdale? Do I need to go on? A building like the Cinedome only comes around once in a century in our state. I do not see the car lots putting up any architecture to marvel at? Is it really necessary to DESTROY our history? Forget remembering. We actually plow our history down and bury it in this state. What a joke! No wonder the Europeans think we are rootless, barbarians with no sense of preservation in this country. Larry H. Miller. Do you REALLY need to destroy history in order to make another million?
The Cinedome 70 is a HISTORIC BUILDING and should be preserved! I will BOYCOTT Riverdale City if they allow this building to be destroyed. I would MUCH rather give my money to Ogden where they appreciate their historic sites!
